Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the beginning it didn&#8217;t bother me much, since project rebuild usually helped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But finally Defender &#8220;promoted&#8221; me (along with my <em>w.exe<\/em>) to a VERY black list and stopped letting it run unconditionally. Plus started deleting it from the drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, sometimes AntiVirus apps behave worse than some viruses. Hell knows what can trigger their attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turned out that it&#8217;s quite common problem, well known to many programmers. If you are one of them (of us), then here is a cure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to stop AntiVirus&#8217; false alarms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Just exclude your exe file from AntiVirus&#8217; consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide is for <em>Windows Defender<\/em>. If you are using something else, then steps most likely will differ, but you see the idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Open your AntiVirus control panel:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Open <em>Windows Start<\/em> menu.<\/li><li>Type and run <em>Windows Security<\/em> app.<\/li><li>Open <em>Virus &amp; threat protection<\/em> section.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Find Exclusions section:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li>Under <em>Virus &amp; threat protection<\/em> settings open <em>Manage settings<\/em>.<\/li><li>Scroll down to <em>Exclusions<\/em> section<\/li><li>Proceed to <em>Add or remove exclusions<\/em>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exclude your work folder from AntiVirus&#8217; check list:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"7\"><li>Proceed to <em>Add an exclusion<\/em>.<\/li><li>Pick <em>Folder mode<\/em>.<\/li><li>Select <em>C:\\CPP<\/em>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s it.
